Art Work of MBB

art-mbb-ep4Artist Brian Bowens reminisces through his art about former NBA players and the shoes they made iconic. Brian Bowens also known as ‘MBB’ provides us with an insight into what inspired his illustrations and a preview of a number of sneakers to be released. Some of these sneakers have already been released as the first couple of videos were uploaded a couple of weeks ago, however, this still makes for great viewing for the avid sneaker fan. And for young bucks out there that don’t know the history of some of these releases–make sure to watch this as you’ll get a glimpse of the best era of ball ever…Long live the 90s!

Episode Number 1: This clip discusses the start of MBB’s love for sneakers by illustrating the AI shoe.

Episode Number 2: This clip MBB previews one of the most underrated players of all-time and also one my favourites–Kevin Johnson. The young bucks may know him as the mayor that saved the Sacramento Kings, but I like to remember him as the guy that had Hakeem dreaming with a nasty jam in the 94 WCF.

Episode Number 3: What’s trip down memory lane without an illustration of Patrick Ewing–I mean he was the nemesis to every Bulls fan, and he was downright nasty on the court. His Knicks teams changed the way the game was forever officiated with way they used man handle boys on the court. Well he also pioneered change in the sneaker industry as well and MBB captures it in this most recent instalment.

Episode Number 4: in this episode Artist MBB takes a look at one of the sneakers that is still dear to my heart–The Reebok Blacktops. The reason this shoe still resonates in the memory bank is because I had a pair stolen from me when I had just purchased them and i’m still haunted by it. I remember the commercials were really cool, as thats what drew me to the shoe in the first place and MBB captures it perfectly with his most recent video.
