The NBA seems to be trying to get fans to fall in love with the sleeved jerseys and will be now taking to the famous Christmas Day games to showcase more of them.
While this is yet to be confirmed by the league, SportsNet New York’s Brian Erni, seems to think they are:
This is a picture from an eBay listing. It seems to jibe with the previous reports we’ve heard about: sleeves, with the player’s number on the left sleeve. Also, I had heard from a source that the front of the jersey would feature an enlarged logo, not a wordmark like I originally suspected.
I cannot confirm this is the real deal, but I’d put money on it. The tagging looks legit, the seller has a ton of other licensed products for sale, and jerseys often leak through retailers, both on eBay and not. It’s only an educated guess right now, but I think you’re looking at the Nets Christmas jersey.

I hope he is wrong as personally, I’m not a fan of these sleeved jerseys. I wasn’t a fan when the NBA brought in the tank top jerseys in the earls 2000s and I certainly don’t think these are apart of what the NBA is about.
There are rumours that the NBA is trying to get fans used to these jerseys as it’s a prelude to having sponsors on jerseys, which was spoken about by David Stern early on in the year.
The only positive aspect of the shirts are that each team logo is enlarged and visible, something that isn’t always the case with the standard NBA singlets.
Anyhow, I hope fans do not go out and purchase these jerseys as poor sales could force the NBA to rethink the sleeved jersey experiment. Hopefully the Grinch can pay Stern and the NBA a visit and steal these before they hit the shelves.
